Relax at Bethany Retirement Community

You can have it all in Bethany’s senior living community. We’ve blended the comforts and amenities of Main Street with the exceptional, loving attention of personal caregivers and medical professionals into an active, safe and affordable place you can call home.

Our philosophy of whole-person care—physical, social, cognitive, emotional and spiritual—inspired the creation of a retirement community that fulfills all your needs now and in the unpredictable future.

Pastoral Care for All at Both Locations

Spiritual care is an integral component of our holistic care philosophy. Our retirement community is sponsored by more than 40 area church congregations. We are dedicated to providing pastoral care for residents of all faiths including Catholic Mass celebrated by a local priest, communion services held monthly by Lutheran and Presbyterian churches, and the observance of Jewish Holy Days in cooperation with our local Temple and Synagogue.

"And He left them and went out of the city to Bethany (a more quiet retired place), where he spent the night." Matthew 21:17

Worship Services

You are invited to attend our weekly morning worship and Sunday afternoon Vesper service. Both include Scripture readings, prayers, hymns and a sermon. Large-print worship and devotion books and hearing assistance devices are available for those who need them. Holy Communion is also celebrated each month and all are welcome. Chapel services may be broadcast into individual resident rooms and sacraments can be administered privately if requested.

Personal Spiritual Care

Our Bethany chaplain conducts small group worship sessions, as well as Bible study group opportunities. While your personal pastor or priest is always welcome, you can feel at ease knowing our on-site chaplain is always available to visit with you especially during times of illness, death and dying, or for other special needs. Your visit may include Scripture readings, prayers, singing, and counseling as appropriate.

Our care team also focuses on behavior interventions as an alternative to the use of medications whenever possible. Activities are personalized based on sensory capacity, cognitive ability, functional level and individual interests.

Support for Families

"Endings & Beginnings" is a support and educational program for family members of loved ones with a dementing illness who reside in a nursing home. It provides a seven week education and support group that is offered twice a year at Bethany Retirement Living. How to Apply

The first step in the process of admitting to the Memory Care Unit, is to complete an Application for Admission form. When this completed application is received, that person is added to the "waiting list." The average wait for admission varies; therefore it is helpful to plan ahead. If you have any further questions, please contact Valerie Peterson, Admissions Coordinator @ 239-3525.

In order to ensure appropriate placement on this unit, a pre-admission screening is conducted by a Licensed Social Worker and a Registered Nurse. The planning conferences generally include both the prospective resident and family members.

Basic Care
